GOSHEN — Josh Gleason is resigning as Goshen College athletic director, effective July 1.
"I am thankful for the many opportunities I have had at Goshen College the past 10-plus years and am proud of the many accomplishments of our outstanding student-athletes and coaches in and out of competition," Gleason said.
Gleason has served as AD since February 2015, when he was promoted from interim AD. Prior to that, he held the titles of assistant athletic director for communications (2013-14) and sports information director (2008-13). Gleason also served as an assistant baseball coach for the Maple Leafs from 2008-12.
“Josh has been an integral part of the successes of our student-athletes and our coaching staff, including expanding opportunities for student-athletes to compete intercollegiately through the addition of men’s volleyball and JV programs, as well as enhancing facilities with improvements and the John Ingold Athletic Complex and expanded weight room,” GC provost and executive vice president Ken Newbold said in a statement released Tuesday to faculty and staff.
“He has also built positive relationships around the campus, and has effectively promoted the important contribution of athletics to a Goshen College experience of individual and team excellence, leadership and service. While we will miss his leadership and commitment to Goshen College, we are deeply grateful for his time with us and wish him all the best in his next position.
“We will be working with the Athletic Department to put a transition leadership plan in place immediately.”
