POLICE NEWS: Goshen police arrest 6-year-old, two 9-year-olds on burglary, theft charges

Three juveniles were arrested Tuesday afternoon on multiple charges following an alleged burglary.

A 6-year-old and two 9-year-olds were arrested by Goshen police around 3:14 p.m. on charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief after the boys reportedly entered an unlocked house at 348 Patterson Court, according to a police report. Most of the reportedly stolen items were recovered.

ARRESTS

• Simon Ugarte, 33, 110 Colonial Manor Drive, Goshen, was arrested by Elkhart County police Tuesday on charges of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, forgery and an immigrant detainer. Ugarte was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

• Eli Ray Schrock, 48, 13824 C.R. 12, Middlebury, was arrested by Elkhart County police Tuesday on a charge of driving while suspended and a hold for another jurisdiction. Schrock was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

• Dune Phoenix Trammel, 23, 15169 Elkhart St., No. 1, Goshen, was arrested by Elkhart County police Tuesday on a charge of child molestation. Trammel was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

• Kimberly Maxie, 44, 348 Brookside Manor, Lot 48, Goshen, was arrested by Elkhart County police Tuesday on a charge of theft. Maxie was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

• Timothy Stephen Petsovich, 39, 804 S. 10th St., Goshen, was arrested by Elkhart County police Tuesday on charges of possession of a narcotic drug and driving while suspended. Petsovich was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

• Daniel Michaels, 20, 43 Winchester Trails, Goshen, was arrested by Goshen police around 12:16 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession of a Schedule 1 substance following a traffic stop near the intersection of C.R. 17 and Peddler's Village Road. Michaels was released with a pending court date.

THEFT

• An employee of Walmart, 4024 Elkhart Road, reported to Goshen police a theft of merchandise around 2:48 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect reportedly fled in a vehicle without attempting to pay.

• An employee of Goshen Health Security reported to Goshen police a theft in the 200 block of High Park Avenue around 2:31 p.m. Tuesday.

• On Tuesday, a 35-year-old Goshen man reported to Goshen police the theft of his bicycle from his residence in the 1100 block of South Main Street. The theft occurred sometime between June 11 and Saturday.

LEAVING THE SCENE

• Goshen police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash around 10:43 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Pike and Second streets. A 17-year-old New Paris girl reported a black SUV collided with her vehicle and the driver fled the scene.

• Goshen police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash around 9:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Clinton Street. Police said a flatbed tractor-trailer was traveling west of Clinton Street, turning north onto Third Street. During the turn, the vehicle struck a city light pole, breaking it off at the base and destroying the pole. The driver fled the scene without filing a report.

BURGLARY

A 40-year-old Goshen man reported to Goshen police an unidentified person broke into his apartment in the 300 block of Stone Drive around 6:02 p.m. Tuesday.
