GOSHEN — Goshen resident Mike Orgill has announced his candidacy as a Republican for Goshen’s City Council District 3.
In an email statement sent Monday afternoon, Orgill indicated that has received the endorsement of retiring District 3 incumbent Dixie Robinson, and looks forward to continuing her legacy of service to the district.
"I am very proud to have the endorsement of retiring incumbent Dixie Robinson," Orgill said in the statement. "She has and continues to serve her district with a personal touch and attention that is unparalleled and a philosophy I will continue."
Robinson confirmed her support of Orgill Monday evening and said she will not run for a third term on the Council.
Orgill said one of his main reasons for wanting to run for city council is to make Goshen the best place it can be for his children and those of othen Goshen families.
"As a councilman my focus will be on increasing the level of economic prosperity and working to represent your concerns," Orgill said. "I believe this is the best way to ensure that Goshen becomes an ever safer and more vibrant city."
