Goshen-based Medtec Ambulance Corporation is closing its doors and moving to Bradenton, Fla.
The company’s Goshen corporate headquarters will be closed as well as its two manufacturing facilities, located in Goshen and in White Pigeon, Mich., affecting a total of 175 jobs. The Goshen closures will affect 45 jobs at the headquarters and 60 employees at the manufacturing plant and 70 employees at the White Pigeon, Mich. location.
Parent company Oshkosh Corporation made the announcement Thursday, when representatives sat down and met with employees. The closures will be phased in, with final closure occurring March 31. According to Oshkosh Corp. Director of Communications John Daggett, the decision was made in late 2010.
