Marching band performance Thursday
Northridge High School Marching Band will perform a community performance, “Age of Progress,” Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Northridge High School football field. There is no admission fee and in case of rain, the performance will be canceled.

Photography class offered
Professional photographer Guy Thompson will demonstrate how to take family snapshots at a free workshop Saturday. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the LaGrange County Public Library, 203 W. Spring St. Reservations are required. Call 260-463-2841, ext. 1030, to register. Home school eventscheduled at library
The staff at the Shipshewana branch of the LaGrange County Public Library is making plans to help out home-school families.
Thursday at 10:30 a.m., parents that home school are invited to the library to get to know each other and find out how the library can assist with their children’s education. Library employee Amanda Smith will meet with parents to discuss ideas for future projects and activities that the parents or families can do as a group.
Home-school groups, such as the one being proposed by the Shipshewana branch library staff, provide families with an opportunity to develop personal relationships with other home-school families. According to the staff, teaming up with the library will give the group access to resources and activities that the families may not have individually.

Fish fry is Saturday
Members of Osceola United Methodist Church will host Bus Kelver’s Famous Fish Fry Saturday. All are welcome to attend from 4 to 6:30 p.m. for a cost of $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to 12. Children younger than 3 years of age may eat for free. Carry-outs will be available. The church is at 431 N. Beech Road in Osceola. For details, call 679-4435. Humane Society to host Woofoween
The Humane Society of Elkhart County’s annual Woofoween party for pets and their owners will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
