Health department offering flu vaccinations

The Elkhart County Health Department has scheduled the following flu vaccination clinics for adults:

• Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Health Department, 608 Oakland Ave., Elkhart, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Both the influenza and the pneumococcal vaccines will be available.

• Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Health Department, 117 N. Second St., Goshen, from 1 to 3 p.m. Both the influenza and pneumococcal vaccines will be available.

The cost for an adult flu vaccine is $23, and the pneumococcal vaccine costs $33. Both are covered by Medicare Part D. Medicare recipients must show their Medicare card.

The flu vaccine for children is available by appointment only at childhood clinics. Doses are limited.
