ELKHART, Ind. — The solid waste management district of Elkhart County will sponsor the household hazardous waste and tire collection Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Borden Waste-Away Service.
Borden’s is located near the intersection of West Beardsley Avenue and Wildwood in Elkhart.
The collection is available for all Elkhart County residents.
Types of acceptable waste include latex and oil based paints, motor oil, gasoline, pesticides and household cleaners.
Materials should be in the original, labeled containers if possible and no containers larger than 5 gallons will be accepted.
Four tires are also accepted per household, without the rims.
Computers and related electronic parts are acceptable as well.
The next regularly scheduled monthly collection will be on May 5 at Borden Waste-Away Service.
