Damage from an early-morning blaze at a vacant Goshen home is estimated at more than $50,000, police said Thursday.
According to Goshen police reports, a Goshen resident reported to police at 2:24 a.m. Thursday that a home at 609 E. Washington St. was on fire.
Goshen police and firefighters responded to the call and brought the fire under control.
Goshen Police Department spokeswoman Tina Kingsbury said arson investigators will assess the fire and provide their findings, but no additional information about the cause of the fire is currently available.
Kingsbury said firefighters and officers at the scene estimated the damage to the structure to exceed $50,000.
The incident remains under investigation.
