Residents living in and around the Goshen community may be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke when Life Line Screening company’s mobile screening unit is at St Mark’s United Methodist Church Jan. 3.
The site is located at 502 N. Main St. in Goshen. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.
Screenings involve the use of ultrasound technology to scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which can lead to a stroke; aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta, and hardening of the arteries in the legs; which are a strong predictor of heart disease. Also offered for men and women, is a bone density screening to assess their risk for osteoporosis.
All four screenings take less than an hour to complete. A complete vascular screening package, including the stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm and ankle brachial index (hardening of the arteries) is $109. Patients who sign up for a complete vascular package, including the osteoporosis screening will pay $129.
For more information regarding the screenings or to schedule an appointment, call 800-697-9721 or visit the Web site www.lifelinescreening.com. Registration is required.
