Approximately 800 students, teachers and parents converged on the Concord Intermediate School parking lot in Elkhart Friday afternoon to use their bodies to spell out the word “Peace” in celebration of the International Day of Peace.

A plane had originally been scheduled to fly over the school to take an aerial shot of the event, but the flight was canceled at the last minute due to the threat of rain. In addition to the human peace sign, students also heard a short inspirational presentation from CIS Principal Chad Stamm.

School staff then followed the presentation by leading the students in singing several peace-themed songs.
