Radio station, bank collecting 1M pennies

B100 (WBYT-FM) and Old National Bank invite the community to contribute to this year’s Quest for a Million Pennies benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The goal of this campaign is to collect one million pennies by Feb. 25.

This will be the kick start to B100’s St. Jude Radiothon that will be held March 7 and 8.

Participants can drop off donations at the Old National Bank at 320 N. Main St., Elkhart or at the B100 Studio at 237 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka.


Troy James to oversee Thor’s international interests

Thor Industries Inc. has appointed Troy James as senior vice president of international operations.

James will lead Thor Industries’ global operations and growth strategy, and will be responsible for the integration of Thor’s international operations, including identifying and sharing best practices and achieving operating efficiencies at the company’s newest acquisition, Erwin Hymer Group, the company stated in a news release. James will relocate to Germany to lead the post-acquisition integration of EHG.

James has more than 26 years of experience in the RV industry. He joined Thor in 2012, and most recently was the president of Thor’s Dutchmen RV business.


Chamber adds staff

The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Trisha Steger to its staff as member relations manager and Main Street coordinator.

Steger will be responsible to develop new members and partnerships, while also building and maintaining relationships with existing members. She will also assist with the mission of Warsaw Community Development Corp., to future encourage economic development in downtown Warsaw.

Steger most recently served as executive director of the Builders Association of Kosciusko and Fulton counties.


Bank expands staff, makes promotions

First State Bank is continuing its expansion across northwest Indiana with new hires and promotions.

Lynda Hershberger was promoted from office manager to banking officer and branch operations manager of the Goshen office. She now manages all the Goshen retail staff, helps open new accounts, and assists with consumer lending.

Darla Kauffman moved from assistant vice president and marketing director to vice president and marketing director. During her 27 years at FSB, Kauffman has worked on both the electronic services and treasury management teams.

Shannon Klein was named a vice president and trust officer. Klein formerly was an assistant vice president at FSB for seven years.

Missy Schroeder has been named vice president branch administrator. Schroeder has 14 years of banking experience and five years with First State Bank. In her new role she supervises daily activities of all FSB’s offices for retail operations.

Mortgage Operations Manager and Mortgage Loan Originator Lance T. Weirich added assistant vice president to his title. He has been with the bank for nine years.

Julie Whitehead was named vice president and talent training coordinator after having worked as the bank’s talent and training coordinator for three years.

Brandon Williamson has joined First State Bank as a business development officer in the Edison Lakes location in St. Joseph County. Williamson has seven years in the financial industry as a business development officer

Michael Zappia has been hired as vice president and commercial loan officer in the St. Joseph County region. He has 25 years of banking experience.
