Sports editor Austin Hough is live blogging the Class 4A state championship football game between the Northridge Raiders and the Mount Vernon Fortville Marauders today at Lucas Oil Stadium. Stay tuned to this story all afternoon for updates from Indianapolis.
6:50 p.m. - Final: Mount Vernon 45, Northridge 14.
The Marauders win the IHSAA Class 4A football state championship, its first state title in program history. The Raiders' magical postseason run ends with a runner-up finish in Indianapolis.
6:31 p.m. - Peyton Shock with an INT return for Northridge
With the Mount Vernon backups in, Northridge senior Peyton Shook intercepts a pass and runs it back 45 yards for a touchdown. Marauders 45, Raiders 14 with 8:38 to go in the game.
6:23 p.m. - UPDATE: No running clock
Travon Hegler's 54-yard touchdown run makes it 45-7 Mount Vernon just 30 seconds into the fourth quarter.
Note: we previously noted that a running clock would begin at this point since the margin is greater than 35. However, that is not going on here.
6:19 p.m. - End 3: Mount Vernon 38, Northridge 7
The Raiders had one total yard of offense in the third quarter as the Marauders clamped down Northridge on both sides of the ball.
6:09 p.m. - Mount Vernon scores
The Marauders are now in firm control after a 22-yard touchdown pass from Gehrig Slunaker to Ashden Gentry. They lead 38-7 with 2:23 to go in the third quarter.
6:04 p.m. - Northridge forced to punt again
The Marauders record their third sack of the game on Tagg Gott to force a Northridge punt. Its desperation time for the Raiders, down 32-7 with 4:05 remaining in the third quarter.
5:59 p.m. - Northridge defense makes a goal line stand
The Raiders defense prevents the Marauders from scoring near the goal line. Northridge offense takes over deep in their own territory, down 25 with 6:00 remaining in the third quarter.

5:49 p.m. - Touchdown Marauders
On its first offensive play of the second half, Gehrig Slunaker connects with Elijah Bridenthal for a 44-yard touchdown pass. The extra point attempt is no good, but Mount Vernon is firmly in control of this one. They head 32-7 with 10:29 remaining in the third quarter.
5:44 p.m. - Third quarter underway
Northridge starts with the ball to begin the second half.
Update: Raiders go three-and-out and punt.
5:22 p.m. - Halftime: Mount Vernon 26, Northridge 7
The Marauders high-octane offense has been just that in the first half, recording 198 total yards and four scoring drives. The Northridge defense has caused three turnovers, but the offense has struggled outside of the lone scoring drive late in the first half. Northridge will get the ball to start the second half.
5:17 p.m. - Mount Vernon scores
The Marauders march right down the field and score on a five-yard run by Keagan LaBelle just before the end of the first half. The two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful.
5:10 p.m. - Touchdown Raiders!
The Northridge offense finally capitalizes on a turnover forced by its defense. A seven play, 61-yard drives ends with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Tagg Gott to Jethro Hochstetler. Dylan Ritchie boots the extra point. It's now Mount Vernon 20, Northridge 7 with 1:39 remaining in the second quarter.
5:01 p.m. - Peyton Shook intercepts a pass for Northridge
The Raiders defense forces its third turnover of the game as Shook intercepts a pass. Northridge offense takes over at their own 39-yard line, trailing 20-0 with 4:35 remaining in the second quarter.
4:54 p.m. - Pick-six for Mount Vernon
Northridge's offense crossed midfield, but then Tagg Gott threw an interception that was ran back 59 yards by the Marauders' Ashden Gentry. The extra point attempt was missed, so it's 20-0 Mount Vernon with 8:06 remaining in the first half. An absolutely backbreaking turnover if you're the Raiders.
4:50 p.m. - slower moving start to second quarter
Mount Vernon punts for the first time. Northridge is trying to respond on offense now.
4:35 p.m. - End of first quarter: Mount Vernon 14, Northridge 0.
Northridge's offense had a turnover on downs with 30 seconds left in the quarter, but then the Raider defense forced a fumble on the next Mount Vernon offensive play. Ridge Howard knocked the ball out and Peyton Shook recovered. Northridge offense has the ball at the Mount Vernon 43-yard line, facing a 2nd and 16 when the second quarter resumes.
4:22 p.m. - Mount Vernon extends the lead
The Marauders offense continues to excel when it doesn't turn the ball over. Gehrig Slunaker throws an 11-yard scoring pass to George Burhenn, then Keagan LaBelle runs in a two-point conversion to make it Mount Vernon 14, Northridge 0 with 4:35 to go in the first quarter.
4:13 p.m. - Kade Sainz intercepts a pass for Northridge
After a three-and-out from the Northridge offense on its first drive, the Raider defense makes a huge play as junior Kade Sainz intercepts a Marauder pass. Northridge takes over deep in their own territory.
Raiders can't take advantage, however, and punt on their second possession. 6:29 left Q1, still 6-0 Mount Vernon.
4:05 p.m. - Mount Vernon scores on first drive
The Marauders top-ranked offense took little time asserting itself, going six plays on the first drive to go up 6-0. Keagan LaBelle had a 24-yard touchdown run to cap the drive that features five rushing attempts and only one pass. The extra point attempt was missed, however, so it's only 6-0 Mount Vernon over Northridge.
