ELKHART — Phyllis E. Trosper, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday at 10:30 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. She is singing and dancing in His presence.
She was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Hornell, N.Y., to Benjamin and Mabel (Demery) Bowers.
She married Floyd Trosper June 30, 1990.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Andrea (Steve) Reich, Bristol, and Tammie Blevins, Union, Mich.; stepdaughters, Shirley Ann Pease, Milford, and Vicky (Robert) Queen, Fort Wayne; stepson, Floyd (Karen) Trosper Jr., Elkhart; sisters, Delores Sheon, Hornell, N.Y., Helena Barr, Elmira, N.Y., and Evelyn Lucas, Durant, Miss.; grandchildren, Stephanie Strout, Avon, Robert Reich, Mishawaka, Vincent Cline and Ryan Cline, both of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Purdy, who died Aug. 9, 1998; stepdaughter, Sandra Grise; and brothers, Arthur and Howard Bowers.
She worked as a floor supervisor at Acousticom Corporation in Elkhart and attended Sugar Grove Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved family get-togethers and roller skating, which she did until the age of 60.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where a funeral service will take place Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rick Gering will officiate.
Burial will be in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
