Cherie J. Whirledge

GOSHEN — Cherie Jean Whirledge, 83, passed away Friday morning.

She married Willis E. Whirledge June 4, 1948. He survives with their children, David (Karen) Whirledge of New Jersey, Shan (Michael) Robinson of Elkhart, and Jonathan Whirledge (friend, Michelle Choquette), Keizer, Ore.

Private burial will follow cremation at Brown Cemetery in Millersburg. The family will host a celebration of her life to be announced at a later date.

Arrangements were with McGann Hay Funeral Homes of South Bend.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
