Wanetia Katie Eash


— LAGRANGE — Wanetia Katie Eash, 81, died Tuesday at Life Care Center of LaGrange.

She was a homemaker and spent her lifetime in LaGrange County. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She was born March 9, 1931 in LaGrange County, to Jacob J.M. and Katie D. (Christner) Miller.

On Nov. 22, 1951, she married Freeman D. Eash in LaGrange County. He preceded her in death June 23, 1990.

Surviving Wanetia are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathryn and Daniel Hostetler of Shipshewana and Loretta Johnson of Mishawaka; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Wilbur Lee Eash of Holland, Mich., Jerry W. and Mary Eash of Wawaka, Orla F. and Elma Eash of LaGrange, Lloyd F. Eash and Homer F. and Rose Eash, all of Shipshewana; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Ellen Miller of Middlebury; two brothers, Obie J. Miller and Amcie Miller, both of Goshen.

Preceding Wanetia in death are her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Alice Eash, who died March 8, 2000; three sisters; and five brothers.

There will be a time of visitation after 3 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the Orla F. Eash residence, 4105 S. 300 West, LaGrange.

Funeral services will take place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Ora Bontrager residence, 8255 W. 100 South, Shipshewana, with Bishop LeRoy Troyer and the home ministers officiating.

Burial will take place in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
