Levi Rockenbaugh, 85, died Tuesday morning at his home. He had been ill for several months.
He was born Sept. 15, 1927 in Noble County, to Floyd and Dorothy (Chiddister) Rockenbaugh.
He married Carol A. Showalter, July 6, 1947, in Millersburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Anne (Mike) Pierce, Goshen, Ellen Swank, New Paris, and Mary (Jeff) Taylor, Goshen; a son, Roger (Darcie) Rockenbaugh, Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Rockenbaugh, Warsaw; and a sister-in-law, Martha Rockenbaugh, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Judy; and two brothers, Howard and Calvin Rockenbaugh.
Levi worked at Mogul Rubber for 45 years. He was a volunteer fireman with Clinton Township and a member at Zion Community Church, Millersburg. He enjoyed high school and college basketball, Chicago White Sox baseball and his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a friendly soul who did not know a stranger.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The service will be led by the Rev. Chris Howell of Zion Community Church, Millersburg.
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
