David Lee Richards

Gulfport, Miss. — David Lee Richards, 52, passed away May 19 as the result of a heart attack.

He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Rayanne Clark, Olive Branch; granddaughter, Ella Jae Metzger, Goshen, Ind.; his parents, B. Franklin and Ruth Richards, Goshen; a sister, Brenda Cole, Nolensville, Tenn.; and a niece and nephew, Sarah and Kevin Cole, Nolensville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joshua David Richards.

A 1979 graduate of Goshen High School, David took great pride in being a member of the Goshen High School football team that won the 1978 state championship. He was also an avid New Orleans Saints fan.

A 25-year resident of Gulfport, he was an active member of the Handsboro Baptist Church, where a memorial service was conducted May 27.

A private burial service took place at West Goshen Cemetery.

A memorial luncheon with family and friends is set to take place Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Shanklin Park Pavilion in Goshen.
