Joann A. Huber

March 24, 1924-July 29, 2013

MILFORD — Joann A. Huber, 89, formerly of Goshen, passed away Monday evening at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare, where she had been a patient since January 2010.

She was born in Goshen March 24, 1924, to Ellis and Joella (Mishler) Detwiler.

She married Melvin G. Huber Nov. 21, 1942, at the First Brethren Church parsonage. He died Sept. 7, 2010.

Survivors include four children, Eric “Rick” (Jan) Huber and Steve (Sandy) Huber, both of Goshen; Sandy (Michael) Vance, New Paris, and Barb (Bob) Hoke, Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Wortinger, Goshen; and a sister-in-law, Delores Detwiler, Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Ellis M. Detwiler.

A lifetime Goshen resident and a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Huber was a member of Jefferson Community Church.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday at Jefferson Community Church. The Rev. Ron Spyker will officiate.

Cremation at Yoder-Culp Crematory will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Community Church Helping Hands Ministry.
