ELKHART — James Mark Moorehead, 55, passed away at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1957, in Zanesville, Ohio, to James and Faith (Spillman) Moorehead.
On May 2, 1992, in Elkhart, he married Machela (Ott) Taylor. She survives along with three children, Melissa Taylor of Elkhart, Brandie (Jimmy) Berry of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Robin Moorehead of Zanesville, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Lyncon and Bella. Also surviving are his parents, James and Faith Moorehead of Zanesville, Ohio; five brothers and sisters, Rick (Margaret) Moorehead of Zanesvile, Ohio, Terry (Debbie) Moorehead and Kevin (Carol) Moorehead both of Zanesville, Ohio, Joanna (Rick) Lowry of Adamsville, Ohio, and Jeanine (Steve) Stover of Zanesville, Ohio.
A son, Matthew Taylor, preceded him in death on March 21, 2000.
Mark was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church, was the church photographer and was involved in many church dramas. Mark was a self-professed “Star Trek” geek, a member of the NRA and loved to sing and act. One of his greatest joys was being a grandpa. He was also the custodian at the church for many years.
Visitation for family and friends will be for two hours prior to the 3 p.m. Saturday service at the Calvary Assembly of God Church. Pastor Brian Whidden will preside and cremation will follow.
Burial with full military honors will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
