WAKARUSA — Nathan Andrew Hixenbaugh, 28, died at 5:42 a.m. Wednesday at his residence after a 10-month illness.
He was born March 12, 1985 in Mishawaka, to James and Karen Eberlein Hixenbaugh. He lived his lifetime in this area. Nathan was a 2003 graduate of NorthWood High School and received a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Ball State University. He was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Nathan is survived by his mother, Karen Housour, Wakarusa; sister, Tara Hixenbaugh, Bristol; brother, Joel (Lee) Eberlein, Edwardsburg, Mich.; stepsisters, Renee (Ken) Nisley and Erica (Brooks) Egolf, both of Nappanee; and stepbrothers, Rodney (Beth) Housour, Goshen, and Jason Housour, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Hixenbaugh; and his stepfather, Tony Housour.
Family and friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Special Olympics of Elkhart County in the name of Nathan and his Aunt Kathy Eberlein, who was a participant in the Special Olympics.
