GOSHEN — Gerald E. Landis, 94, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Friday at his home.
He was born June 27, 1919 in Sterling, Ill., to William and Bertha (Keiser) Landis.
On April 29, 1945, he married Gladys M. Kauffman in Sheffield, Ill. She preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2003 in Goshen.
He is survived by his son, Dwight (Charlotte) Landis of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a daughter, Lina Weaver of Goshen; grandson, Scott Landis of Dayton, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Tiffany Zook and Heather Mann, both of Goshen; and four great-grandchildren, Kitana, Peyton, Hailey and Selah.
He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Twila; and a grandson, Brian.
Gerald attended the Church of God and in his younger years enjoyed bowling. He retired in 1982 from International Harvester in Fort Wayne where he worked as an engineer for more than 30 years.
There will be one hour of visitation for family and friends prior to the 7 p.m. celebration of life service Thursday at Northside Baptist Church, 53198 C.R. 9 North, Elkhart. The Rev. Mark Campbell will preside.
Cremation has taken place at Elkhart Cremation Services. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
