Pauline L. McCreary, 96, died Tuesday at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.
She was born April 27, 1917 in St. Joseph County, to Ira and Mattie (Schutz) Eby. She graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1935.
She married Edward J. McCreary Oct. 11, 1940. He died Sept. 21, 2010.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Sue Smith, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Barbara Jean (James) Bates, Goshen; sons, Ronald Lee (Paula) McCreary, Vero Beach, Fla., and Dale Edward (Dianne) McCreary, Elkhart; sister, Iva E. Knight, Elkhart; brother, Paul (Judy) Eby, Elkhart; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Craig Kenyon McCreary; son-in-law, Jack Smith; and a sister, Erma Snook.
She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elkhart. She played piano at various churches she attended in the area.
There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, 27664 C.R. 24, Elkhart. The Rev. Ralph Vanderwerf will officiate.
Burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery.
