SHIPSHEWANA — Lizzie Mae Bontrager, 78, died after an extended illness at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday at the residence of her daughter.
She was born Nov. 11, 1934, in LaGrange County, to Ezra and Anna (Bontrager) Yoder.
On April 12, 2002, she married LaVerne Bontrager in Shipshewana. He survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Beth Ann (Marvin) Bontrager of Shipshewana; stepdaughter, Linda (Calvin) Miller of Shipshewana; four stepsons, Lavon (Dawn) Bontrager of Spring Hill, Kan., Lyle (Shari) Bontrager and Leon Bontrager, both of Middlebury, and Lonnie Bontrager at home; five grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Sylvanus) Miller of Nappanee, LeAnna (John) Schrock of Goshen, Katie (Thomas) Humble of Middlebury, and Ada Miller of Shipshewana; two brothers, Perry Yoder of Middlebury, and Christie (Marlene) Yoder of Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel and Elmer Yoder; a brother-in-law, Nelson Miller; and sister-in-law, Katie Yoder.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be all day Thursday at the Calvin Ray Miller residence, 0700 N. Ind. 5, Shipshewana, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Bishop Chris Bontrager and home ministers will conduct the services.
Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
