BRISTOL – Robert “Bob” D. Riley, 75, of Bristol, passed away at 11:30 a.m. April 30, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1938 in Caseyville, Ky. to Henry and Louise (Stewart) Riley.
On Oct. 6, 1962, in Metropolis, Ill., he married Carolyn R. Slannigan. She survives along with two daughters, Lisa (and David) Riley, of Westchester, Ohio; Robin (Sol) Miller, of Seymour, Tenn.; five grandchildren; Christopher Miller, Bradley Miller, Austin Riley, Tyler Miller, Morgan Riley and a great-grandson, C.J. Miller. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Doug Riley.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of the Elkhart Art League and was a well-known artist in the Elkhart area. He attended the Grace Bible Church, loved traveling gardening, tending to his five acres of land and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a retired truck driver and charter bus driver.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grace Bible Church in Elkhart. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grace Bible Church. Pastor Mike Fisher will preside and immediately following the service at the church, the USMC Honor Guard and the Elkhart DAV will render military honors. Cremation will follow at Elkhart Cremation Services.
