GOSHEN —  Wilhelm Wegener, 85, died at his home Saturday morning.

He was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Glusingen, Germany, to Adolf and Erna (Rank) Wegener.

He married Elfrieda Komm March 18, 1947, in Jesteburg, Germany. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 2008.

He is survived by a son, Heinz (Nanalee) Wegener, Cumming, Ga.; four grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Wegener, Quinn (Sarah) Wegener, Heinz (Mariana) Wegener and Jessica (Kenny) Kling; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arnold Wegener, Goshen.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dieter Wegener, two brothers and three sisters.

A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen, Mr. Wegener worked many years for Duplex.

Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. The Rev. John Hickey will officiate.

Burial will follow in Miller Eight-Square Cemetery, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church; write Wilhelm Wegener Memorial on the memo line.
