Marvin Lee Delagrange

MILLERSBURG —  Marvin Lee Delagrange, 69, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday  at IU Health Goshen Hospital, after suffering a mild heart attack Saturday evening.

He was born on July 17, 1943 in Allen County, to John C. and Irene Mae (Leichty) Delagrange. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Joseph Delagrange.

On Oct. 18, 1969, he married Linda C. Tyson at Emma Mennonite Church. She survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Gayle Delagrange of Millersburg, and Amber (Eric) Troyer of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Kehr and Chase Lemons; a sister, Clara (Romayne) Bender of North Port, Fla.; a brother, Elvin (Marlene) Delagrange of Middlebury; three half brothers, Allen (Wanda) Delagrange of Millersburg, and twins, Harold Delagrange of Elkhart and Garold (Janet) Delagrange of Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.

Marvin had worked for Schult Homes for several years, was a farmer and ran a milk route for many years, most recently for Kirkdorffer Trucking. He was a member of Emma Mennonite Church. He volunteered his IW service in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday at Emma Mennonite Church, Topeka. Services will be conducted by the Revs. Gene Hartman and Derrick Ramer of the church and Marvin’s cousin, the Rev. Don Delagrange.

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury.

Memorials may be given to LaGrange County Cancer Society.
