NAPLES, Fla. — Francis “Frank” Edward Freeze, 70, of Naples, Fla., passed away April 29, 2013, at Avow Hospice in Naples. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Dale and Bertha (Shirk) and two brothers, Dale and Murlin. He has one surviving brother, Darwin, of South Bend, Ind.
Frank was born in Bremen, Ind., and graduated from Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Ind. He then proudly served two tours in Vietnam as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In 1974, Frank married the love of his life, his surviving wife, Wilma (Fried). The couple had two sons, Luke of Naples, Fla., and Jonathan of Syracuse, Ind.
Jonathan and his wife, Jenny (Butt) made Frank the proudest grandfather ever with the births of their children, Natalie (7) and Nicholas (3). In fact, his love of family and friends was clearly the most important thing in Frank’s life and his devotion to each was very apparent. Frank was a lifelong Notre Dame fan and loved his Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed woodworking and number painting in his free time.
A memorial service will be held in Indiana in June.
