GOSHEN — Cherie Jean Whirledge passed away Friday morning. She was 83 years old.

Cherie was born Aug. 26, 1929, to Wayne and Nadine Myers of Millersburg.

She married Willis E. Whirledge June 4, 1948. He survives with their children, David (Karen) Whirledge of New Jersey, Shan (Michael) Robinson of Elkhart, Jonathan Whirledge (friend, Michelle Choquette), Keizer, Ore.

Cherie was a wonderful grandmother to Zachary, Derek, Lucas (Stephanie) and Alex of New Jersey, Blake of Elkhart, Brett of Indianapolis, Corey and Chelsea of Oregon; and great-grandma to Brayden of Oregon.

Cherie lived most of her live in Millersburg. She spent the past 12 years enjoying her neighbors of Oak Court on the Greencroft Campus in Goshen.

Cherie graduated from Millersburg High School. She retired from the workforce when she left the former Switches Inc. of Goshen.

Cherie chose cremation with no formal funeral. Private burial will follow cremation at Brown Cemetery in Millersburg. The family will host a celebration of her life to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Shelter.
