MIDDLEBURY — Harold Lee Campbell, 81, died at 6:15 am, on Monday at Courtyard Of Goshen.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1931, in Cumberland, Iowa, to Wesley J. and Ola B. (Chew) Campbell.
On May 29, 1955, he married Mary Joanne Fredericksen, she died July 6, 2012.
Surviving are daughter, Rhonda Schrock of Middlebury; two sons, Rodney (Lisa) Campbell, Bristol, Rory (Amanda) Campbell, Portland; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one step grandchild, two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a daughter Rhodette Campbell, a sister Evelyn Sorenson and son-in-law Larry Schrock.
Harold had been a member of the Methodist Church since 1946 serving on the Board of Trustees for the Northern Indiana Conference and was on the board of the Indiana Auctioneers Association.
He had worked for 23 years at Furst-McNess Manufacturing in Freeport, Ill., retiring in 2002, had worked in sales for Redman Homes in Topeka for 13 years and was owner-operator of Campbell Auction Service since 1978.
Harold and his wife had raised Siberian Huskies and were known for raising asparagus.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury, with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Rod Holmes.
Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
