Mildred Elizabeth Huff

WAKARUSA — Mildred Elizabeth Huff, 90, Miller’s Merry Manor, formerly of Nappanee, died at 10:04 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor.

She was born Aug. 28, 1922 in Warsaw, to Emory and Helen (Herrin) Klopenstein. On June 16, 1946, she married Russell L. Huff.

Mrs. Huff was a lifetime area resident. She had retired from CTS in Elkhart. She enjoyed people and had a friendly face. She was always smiling and called her loved ones and friends “honey baby.”

She is survived by her husband, Russell; sons, Russell John (Jill ) Huff, Wilber, Wash., Brian (Anna) Huff, Nappanee; six grandchildren, John (Kym) Huff, Tammi Clampffer, Jennifer Dieatric, Cobi (Dwayne) Ray, Toni (Brent) Warren and Mandi (Joe) English; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and a sister, Jeanette (James) Marsh, Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Emory Huff; and a sister, Alice Virginia Klopenstein.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Norm Reimer from Nappanee Missionary Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Nappanee United Methodist Church.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
