Lovina Mae Miller

April 20, 1926-June 14, 2013

GOSHEN —  Lovina Mae Miller, 87, died at 6:23 a.m. Friday at Courtyard Of Goshen, where she had lived since February.

She was born April 20, 1926 in Nappanee, to Eli J. and Sarah (Miller) Hochstetler.

On Jan. 24, 1946, she was married to Melvin Schwietert, who died Aug. 23, 1989.

On Aug. 13, 2000, she married Chriss E. Miller, who died July 5, 2011.

She is survived by three daughters, Lucille Hodge of Sun City, Ariz., JoAnn (Neal) Beachy of Etna Green, and Rosetta (Ray) Miller of Middlebury; two sons, Eugene (Martha) Schwietert of Goshen and Randy Schwietert of Middlebury; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, LaVina (Shorty) Christner of Goshen, and Leora (Laverne) Miller of Kalona, Iowa; stepson, Lester (Marilyn) Miller of Goshen; two sisters, Verda (Levi) Hochstetler and Ellen Chupp both of Nappanee; five brothers, Jesse (Wilma) Hochstetler of Nappanee, Omer (Wilma) Hochstetler of Milford, Lonnie (Verba) Hochstetler of Nappanee, Marvin E. Hochstetler of Goshen, and Earl (Erma) Hochstetler of Nappanee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; one grandson; one great-grandson; three sisters, Sylvia, Edna and Mattie; and two brothers, Willis and Glen.

She was a member of Roselawn Mennonite Church. She was a homemaker who worked in housekeeping at Goshen General Hospital for 11 years and in laundry at Greencroft. She was known for her quilting, which she enjoyed very much.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.

There will be one hour of visitation prior the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by the Revs. Troy Brubacher and Curtis Stutzman.

Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.
