Ervin A. Miller

LAGRANGE — Ervin A. Miller, 91, died at 7 p.m. Friday at the residence of his daughter, Fannie Miller, in Pardeeville, Wis.

He was born Aug. 6, 1921, in LaGrange, to Ananias E. and Mattie (Hershberger) Miller. On Jan. 29, 1942, in LaGrange County, he married Annie Miller. She died Jan. 29, 2011.

Surviving are five daughters, Lydia Mae Petersheim, Dalton, Wis., Fannie (Daniel Ray) Miller, Pardeeville, Wis., Leanna Miller and Katie (Floyd R.) Miller, both of LaGrange, and Erma (Freeman S.) Miller, Pardeeville, Wis.; four sons, Clarence (Anna Marie) Miller, Shipshewana, Orva Miller, Avoca, N.Y., Perry (Wilma) Miller, LaGrange, and Leroy (Ada Mae) Miller, Dalton, Wis.; a son-in-law, Eli (Ruby) Schrock, LaGrange; 65 grandchildren; and 260 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a daughter, Mary Schrock; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ella Miller; two sons-in-law, Elva Petersheim and Edwin Miller; four sisters, Anna Schmucker, Mary Hochstetler, Katie Graber and infant Matie Miller; and five brothers, Nathaniel, Clarence, Neal, Levi and Ammon Miller.

Ervin was a farmer, owner/operator of a metal shop at his residence and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today and all day Monday at the Floyd R. Miller residence, 4460 W. 100 S., LaGrange.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Dan W. Yoder and the home ministers. Burial will be in Beechy Cemetery, LaGrange.

Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, is in charge of the arrangements.
