GOSHEN — Thomas Nettrouer, 73, Goshen, died Monday at his residence.
He was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Nappanee to Clarence and Helen (Weyant) Nettrouer.
On March 26, 1971, he married Doreen (Robinson) Nettrouer. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Tina (Paul) Kohler of Goshen, Timothy Ray Nettrouer of Goshen, Thomas (Geraldine) Nettrouer of Elkhart, Matthew Charles (Bernice) Nettrouer of Goshen, and Jason Michael Nettrouer of Goshen; a sister, Linda (Duane) Zoerhof of New Zeeland, Mich.; and brothers Richard (Carolyn) Nettrouer of Goshen, Robert Nettrouer of Goshen, James L. (Patricia) Nettrouer of Goshen and Jerry L. (Evelyn) Nettrouer of New Paris; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Christopher Aaron Nettrouer.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the state for 10 years and for the city of Goshen for 22 years.
He was a member of the Civil Defense, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation is set from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
The funeral is set for 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Breniser officiating.
Burial will take place in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.
