Ruth Jane Hoover, 94 died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Shirley Riggs.
She was born Dec. 10, 1918 in Elkhart County, to Dallas and Amanda (Hostetler) Cripe.
On June 6, 1949, she married Jay Carlyle Hoover. He died in 1977.
She is survived by three daughters; Patty Lyons, Indianapolis, Cynthia S. (Ray) Good, Elkhart, and Shirley A. (Charles) Riggs, Goshen; two sons, Carlos E. (Charlene) Hoover, Warsaw, and Rex Delos (Linda) Hoover, Sturgis, Mich.; stepdaughter, Peggy M. Brewer, Texarkana, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maude Niece, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Edward Oakes, Larry Heubner and Jack Heubner; and 11 sisters and brothers.
A homemaker, Ruth had been a member of the Goshen Eagles and the Goshen Disabled American Veterans.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the noon service Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. The Rev. David Cripe of New Hope Free Will Baptist will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen.
