LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Michael C. Danforth, 72, passed away at his home Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.
The native of Marion was a retired owner of Michael’s IGA, Goshen, and a member of the Samaritan Lodge #105 F&AM, Marion. Michael was President of PTA, Marion, President of Shopping Center Association, Marion, served on the Board of Directors of Little League, Brazil, Ind., was Chairman of Heart Fund Association, Brazil, Ind., and a member of the Parks and Recreation Board, Goshen.
In retirement he worked for Rice Corp., Bonita Springs, Fla. He was an avid boat enthusiast, cruising waters of southwest Florida with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Fern Danforth; and a son, David.
Survivors include his wife, Midge; three sons, Todd (Dennise) of Marco Island, Fla., Mark (Stephanie) of Palmetto, Fla., and Steve (Joann) of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Patrick, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Jacqy Roberts of Arizona and Mary Ann Frankenfield of Marion; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Mark Jr., Harrison, Camron, Cori, Addy and Trey; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Sofia; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the Lehigh Acres Christian Church, 50 Bell Ave., Lehigh Acres, Fla.
