Judith A. Unsicker

GOSHEN — Judith Arlene Unsicker, 65, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

She was born Dec. 19, 1947, to the late Frederick and Eleanor (Kutzner) Kollever in Romulus, Mich., and has lived in Goshen since 1983.

As Judith Arlene Kollever, she married Terry Unsicker. They remained married for 15 years before they divorced. Terry preceded her in death; along with her parents; and a sister, Jeanne Kollever.

Judith was currently employed as a Paralegal for Loraine Troyer, Attorney in Goshen, where she had worked for 20 years.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Letitia “Tish” (Richard) Harman of South Bend; her son, Thomas (Sarah) Unsicker of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren, Conner Stigner, Alex, Drew, and Caroline Harman, and William and Nathan Unsicker; and four sisters, Doris Sanders, Susan Sullivan, Margaret Unsicker and Patti Freet.

Judith enjoyed gardening and crafts and was a skilled artist. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a “Time of Sharing” will take place at 7 p.m. There will be no services.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
