TOPEKA — Otis C. Winslette, 61, died Monday at his home after a year-long battle with cancer.

On June 4, 1977, he married Kay Morgan in Hillsboro, Ga. She survives in Topeka.

He is also survived by daughter, Kara Garrett of Topeka; a son, David Winslette, Charleston, S.C.

There will be a time of visitation Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday at 3 p.m. at Eden Worship Center, Topeka.

There will be one hour of calling at Williams Funeral Home, 306 N. Jefferson, Eatonton, Ga., prior to the 3 p.m. graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Eatonton, Ga.

Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange, is assisting the family with arrangements.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
