Anne G. (Hochstetler) Valdez


— NAPPANEE — Anne G. (Hochstetler) Valdez, 27, of Nappanee, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at Elkhart Hospice House. For 3½ years, Anne bravely battled brain cancer without complaint.

She was born Aug. 21, 1986, in Goshen, to Rex and Carrie (Fimbianti) Hochstetler. On June 6, 2012, she married Remi Valdez in Nappanee.

Anne was a 2005 graduate of NorthWood High School. She had worked for Dr. Darren Minnich at Nappanee Family Eye Care. Anne enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends, dog Molly and designing jewelry. She excelled in sports, especially volleyball and softball. Anne will be remembered for her beautiful smile, spirit, courage, perseverance and love of her nephews and niece.

Anne is survived by her husband, Remi; parents, Rex and Carrie Hochstetler, Nappanee; brothers, Mike (Kim) Hochstetler, St. Joseph, Mich., and Joe (Amber) Hochstetler, Nappanee; nephews, Alex and Mason Hochstetler; niece, Ellie Hochstetler; and grandparents, Howard and Leona Hochstetler, Milford, and Reno and Gloria Fimbianti, Nappanee.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mark Mikel will officiate and burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
