KENDALLVILLE — Eugene “Gene” Stutzman, 75, died Monday at his residence.
He farmed in Milford with his father and moved to Kendallville in 1968.
Mr. Stutzman was district manager and salesman for Moorman Feeds since December 1963.
Gene always looked for opportunities to help people and minister to them. His family and church were very important to him.
He was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Marshall County, to Raymond and Katie (Yoder) Stutzman.
On April 26, 1958, he married Shirley A. Shaum in Goshen.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Stutzman of Kendallville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mark Shearer of Ligonier; a son and daughter-in-law, Lyn and Lisa Stutzman of Topeka; three grandchildren, Lynsey (Andy Hurley) Shearer of Waldron Lake, Karissa (Michael) Estleman of Fort Wayne, and Bradley (Beth) Stutzman of Fort Wayne; a great-granddaughter, Kyrie Hurley; a great-grandson, Elliot Estleman; a great-grandchild due in October; two sisters, Viola (Ben) Kaiser of Milford and Fern (Lowell) Maust of Goshen; and three brothers, Edwin (Betty) Stutzman of Kokomo, Ralph (Marilyn) Stutzman of Indianapolis, and Robert (Verna) Stutzman of Cedar Hill, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kent Eugene Stutzman; and a brother.
Calling will be Thursday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. State St., Kendallville.
A celebration of life service will take place Friday at 2 p.m. at North Main Street Mennonite Church, 504 N. Main St., Nappanee, with the Revs. Craig Lambright, Dale Leinbach and Lyn Stutzman officiating.
Private burial will be in Yellow Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Goshen.
