MIDDLEBURY — Eric Neil Fess, 40, of Middlebury, died at 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at his residence.

He was born on June 30, 1972, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to Charles and Linda (Brenneman) Fess. On Sept. 21, 2002, in Middlebury, he married Renee Eggleston. She survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Brianna Eggleston and Emily Fess, both at home; his parents of Des Plains, Ill.; a brother, Jason Fess of Chicago, Ill.; and grandmother, Helen Fess of Park Ridge, Ill.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, worked at Lippert Components in Howe as a second shift supervisor, enjoyed working on cars and loved to spend time with his family at their lake house in Allegan, Mich.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Rev. Robert Riegsecker of Griner Mennonite Church.
