Robert Edwin Dillon

Nov. 6, 1936-April 2, 2013

SHIPSHEWANA — Robert Edwin Dillon, 76, died Tuesday morning at his residence.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1936 in Elkhart, to James and Thelma (Rizzo) Dillon.

He was divorced from his first wife, Carolyn Miller, who survives.

He married Marie Dec. 30, 1984; she survives.

In addition to his wife, is also survived by a daughter, Brenda (Garry) Yoder, Millersburg; a stepdaughter, Ericka (Jeff) Shull of Wawaka; three sons, Randall (Stephanie) Dillon of Middlebury, Patrick (Kelly) Dillon of Goshen, and Doyle Dillon of Shipshewana; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Gage.

He was a retired state police communications officer, a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the American Legion in LaGrange and the ABATE motorcycle club.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury, where funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Donald Sheline will officiate.

Burial will be in Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana.
