Mary Florence Green

SYRACUSE — Mary Florence Green, 86, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.
She was born March 5, 1928 in Brownsville, Pa., to Christopher and Florence E. (Embrey) North.
She graduated from Brownsville High School, received a business degree from a junior college in Pittsburgh, Pa. and an associate’s degree from Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne.
She was married to Boyd McFarren, Harry Knox and Walter Green, all of whom preceded her in death during their marriage.
She retired in 1990 from Syracuse Rubber Company after 26 years of service as personnel manager/systems analyst. She formerly worked at Essex Wire in Ligonier.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Calvary Ruth Circle, Maxwelton Ladies Golf Association, GNO Girlfriends, Golden Girls, Mother’s Club and Just for Fun Bunch, Writer’s Corner of the North Webster Library and the Syracuse Library Book Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Doyle of Parrish, Fla.; son, Boyd (Sally) McFarren, Fulton, Ill.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Robert “Bob” Laughlin, Syracuse.
Visitation will take place today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse.
Funeral services will begin at 10 am. Friday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with the Rev. Jerry Turn of the church officiating.
Burial will be at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
