---- — MILLERSBURG — Dennis Eli Hochstetler, 64, died of natural causes unexpectedly at his home Sunday afternoon.

He was born July 4, 1949 in Sturgis, Mich., to Eli Daniel and Orpha Minnie (Bell) Hochstetler.

He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Haney, Syracuse, and Beth Hochstetler, Millersburg; four grandchildren, Kayla, Michael and Collin Hendrix and Hayden Goble. Also surviving are two sisters, Pam Juarez, Nappanee, and Sherril Bailey, LaPorte; six brothers, Roger, Elkhart, John (Arlene), Union Mills, Steve, Nappanee, Ronald, Etna Green, Lynn, Goshen and Rex (Marloes), Nappanee; and a stepbrother, Doug (Diane) Swinehart, Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Martha Swinehart Hochstetler; and a stepbrother, Tony Swinehart.

He was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren, the Millersburg Lions Club and Sons of the American Legion, Millersburg. His love for Big Brothers and Big Sisters inspired him to raise more than $20,000 for them.

Mr. Hochstetler served with Jobs Corps for two years in Wisconsin and retired in 2012 from Triangle Rubber.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 6 p.m. service Thursday at West Goshen Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Norm Replogle will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service.
