---- — Lisa Nisley
May 1, 1965-April 8, 2014
PONCHATOULA, La. — On April 8 at 1:38 a.m. CST, God added another angel to his flock. With much sadness I must report that Lisa Nisley answered His call and joined a higher ministry.
She was born in Goshen, Ind., May 1, 1965 and spent most of her childhood growing up in Millersburg, Ind. She was a 1983 graduate of Goshen High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Davenport College.
She passed away from stomach cancer in Ponchatoula, where she had lived since October 2012 serving as church secretary for New Creations Church.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Nisley of Mishawaka, Ind. and her father, John R. Nisley Sr. of Goshen. She also left behind a brother, John R. Nisley Jr., Dowagiac, Mich.; a sister, Christi Stefaniak, Mishawaka; as well as a niece and three nephews.
She was a very religious woman who committed the past 12 years of her life tirelessly serving God and ministering to others. Though she will be missed on this earth, she goes to serve God and her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
A memorial service is set for 6 p.m. April 30 at New Creation Church in South Bend, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and family attending the service bring purple balloons to be released at the end of the service.
Goodbye YaYa — you will be missed. Amen.
