Harold L. Perkins

May 26, 1946-April 18, 2013

SYRACUSE — Harold L. Perkins, 66, died at 4:54 p.m. Thursday at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was married Sept. 22, 2009, in Goshen, to Shireen D. “Dee Dee” (Hoover) Davis. She survives in Syracuse.

Also surviving are five daughters, Victoria Lynn Steele, Mesa, Ariz., Rebecca Alene (Kirk) Stanton, Wichita, Kan., and Angela Jean Perkins, Stephanie Michelle Perkins and Sarah Elizabeth Perkins, all of Grandview, Mo.; two sons, William Albert Perkins, Saginaw, Texas, and Michael Edward Perkins, Audubon, Iowa; and two stepdaughters, Stephenie (Forrest) Boesenberg and Shaundra (Todd) Jones, both of Syracuse.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
