GOSHEN — Donald D. Mansfield, 86, C.R. 118, died Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Golden Living Center, Elkhart.
He was born July 5, 1926 in Elkhart County, to Pete S. and Mina (Young) Mansfield.
On May 16, 1947, he married Mary Lechlitner, who survives.
Also surviving are his four children, Sharon (Terry) Baird, Akron, Judy (Edward) Mason, Carleton, Mich., Linda (Randy) Wilson, Elkhart, and Dennis (Michele) Mansfield, Fort Wayne; brother, Victor (Helen) Mansfield, Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Daniel Baird, Athens, Tracy (Jason) Holloway, Rochester, Joshua (Angela) Mason, Ionia, Mich., Sara (Nathaniel) Wright, Gulu, Uganda, East Africa, James (Ritu) Wilson, Naperville, Ill., Amy (Philip) Habbegger, Hawaii, Lesley (Nicholas) Small, Leiters Ford, Ellen (Matthew) Cox, Greenwood, and Alison Mansfield, Fort Wayne; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard, Waldo, Hudson and Kelby Mansfield.
He graduated in 1944 from Concord High School and was discharged in 1952 from the United States Navy after serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a machinist for NIBCO and retired in 1983 from CTS. He was a member of Sugar Grove Church, Goshen.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday at Sugar Grove Church, 58512 C.R. 17, Goshen. The Rev. Rick Gerring will officiate.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
