MIDDLEBURY — Agnes Elizabeth Riegsecker, 91, died at 12 p.m. Friday at her son’s residence in Wakarusa. She had been in failing health.
She was born Jan. 13, 1922, in LaGrange County, to Claude and Edna (Miller) Miller. On Feb. 12, 1943, in Elkhart County, she married Jesse Riegsecker. He died July 14, 2008.
Surviving is a daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Lee of Middlebury; three sons, John (Deborah) Riegsecker of Gig Harbor, Wash., Joseph (Debi) Riegsecker of Middlebury, Jerrold (Kay) Riegsecker of Wakarusa; five grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, James Riegsecker; two sisters, Mary Hartzler and Frances Hooley; a brother, Claude Miller; one infant sister; and one infant brother.
She was a homemaker, had worked for the Telephone Co. in Shipshewana for about five years and was well known for her doll collection and her doll hospital.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury, prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Hospice Chaplain Jane Miller.
