William S. Bontrager, 74, died early Tuesday morning at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
He was born April 21, 1938, to Samuel and Fannie (Bontrager) Bontrager in Centerville, Mich.
He married Wilma K. Golden on June 20, 1965, in Mexico, Mo. She died June 8, 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce K. Stamper, Elkhart and Barbara Knight, Goshen; two sons, Michael W. Bontrager, Millersburg, and William (Casie) Bontrager Jr., Goshen; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna (Tobie) Yoder, Colon, Mich. and Lizzie (Albert) Hochstetler, Sturgis, Mich.; and three brothers, Henry (Dorothy) Bontrager, Wis., Menno Bontrager, Burr Oak, Mich. and Amos (Lillian) Bontrager, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and six siblings, Christ, Levi and Rueben Bontrager, Anna Stauffer, Katie Hochstetler; and a half sister, Nancy.
A four-year resident of the area and a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren, he worked in the manufactured housing industry.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Stan Godfrey, pastor of New Paris Church of the Brethren, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
