Ralph E. Shrock, 88, of LaGrange, died at 12:14 a.m. on Saturday at his residence, he had suffered from congestive heart failure.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1924 in Defiance County, Ohio, to Elmer E. and Lizzie Ann (Mast) Shrock.
On Oct. 9, 1947 in LaGrange County he married Anna H. Eash, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are six sons; Elroy (Bonnie) Shrock of Mesquite, Texas, Nelson (Sara) Shrock of Springs, Mich., Elmer (Christine) Shrock of Fort Wayne, Dennis (Esther) Shrock of Salem, Mo., Kenneth (Ruby) Shrock of LaGrange, Sherman (Ruth) Shrock of Hillsboro, Wis.; five daughters, Marietta (Harley) Lambright of Leroy, Mich., Helen Shaw of Union City, Mich., Katie Shrock of LaGrange, Naomi (Dave) Yoder of Mio, Mich., Sarah (Ray) Miller of Shipshewana; a daughter-in-law, Betty Shrock of Goshen; 48 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Miller of Shipshewana; two brothers, Delbert (Betty) Shrock of Topeka, Lester (Katie) Shrock of Shipshewana; step-sister, Mary Kim of Detroit, Mich.; two step-brothers, Enos Miller of Lagrange and Ora (Alta) Hochstetler of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Calvin Shrock; a son-in-law Steve Shaw; step-mother, Lizzie Ann Shrock; three grandchildren; brother, Mose Shrock; sister, Helen Beachy; step-brother, Joas Miller.
Ralph was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained as a minister in 1957 and then as the bishop in 1976. He was currently serving as the Senior Bishop.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today and all day Monday at the family’s residence.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the David Miller residence; 2030 C.R. W. 200 South, LaGrange.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Eli P. Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
