EL PASO, Texas —
Larry R. Schrock, 73, formerly of Goshen, died on Thursday, March 7, after a three-week illness.
Larry was born July 16, 1939, in Goshen to the late Joni and Sovina “Miller” Schrock.
He married Rose Biggs Feb. 13, 1982, in Goshen. She died Nov. 27, 2009.
He is survived by three daughters, Beth (Daniel) Schrock-Valles, El Paso, Texas, Debbie Doering, Elkhart, Cynthia Flicker, Boise, Idaho; two sons, Steven (Heather) Schrock, Milford, and Robert (Sharon) Schrock, El Paso, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Ann Miller, El Paso, Texas; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Miller, Goshen, and Laureen (Jerry) Gerber, Charlevoix, Mich; two brothers, LaVon (Cindy) Schrock, and LaVern (Connie) Schrock, both of Goshen; and a brother-in-law, Verne (Connie) Biggs, Tucson, Ariz.
Besides spending time with his family, Larry loved spoiling his dog Heidi, watching anything that had to do with the Chicago White Sox and of course, driving any truck. He was an amazing truck driver for over 50 years with many companies including Zook’s, Supreme Truck Bodies, Jayco and Advanced Affiliates. He was always up for a laugh — if you weren’t laughing, you were when he was done. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be missed but he will forever be in our hearts.
Many knew him as Gopher, I knew him as my dad. Dad, as you would say it...“Say Goodbye Now.”
Friends may attend the viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral will take place at Maple City Chapel at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Gary Miller will officiate.
Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square cemetery, Goshen.
